Questions and answers

Who is KELB-LP Radio?  KELB Radio is operated locally by a non-profit 501 (3) (c) corporation. This non profit corporation  was formed in May 2000, to build and operate an educational low power FM radio station in Lake Charles, LA.  Our board of directors are all lifelong members of this community, and are all actively involved in their local churches.

What is meant by the term "the holy catholic church" in The Apostles Creed The term "holy catholic church" has no reference to any church denomination.  The holy catholic church is universal in scope and is both visible and invisible.  The visible church is built and adhered to by people who make up the invisible church.  The visible church is worthy of being called a church only when it is faithful in preaching and teaching the pure word of God.  However, the visible church is subject to error, sometimes to the point of degenerating into a state of not being a true church at all.  The invisible church on the other hand is made up only of God's elect, and has no building or property, and consists of true believers who worship and adore the one true God.  The true Church is the bride of Christ, of whom He is the head, and is sustained by His protection, and is defended by His mighty power.   God alone knows who are the individual members of His church, but we know that is made up of people from every race, tribe, and kindred.

If the Holy Scripture is a perfect doctrine to which nothing can be added or taken away, then of what purpose are teachers and preachers?  It has pleased God to save them that believe by the foolishness of preaching.  It is the duty of those who have received from God to share with others what God has been pleased to teach them.

Is Doctrine important?  The word doctrine simply means teaching.   It is most important that our teaching be founded upon the infallible Word of God and as correct as humanly possible.  And we must be careful to acknowledge that all truth and sound doctrine proceed from God.

How does true doctrine distinguish itself from false teaching?   False doctrine is received by willing ears and is applauded by the natural mind.   A characteristic of the divine word of God is that it can only be received by those who have experienced the new birth.  One should not give up in despair over scripture that is difficult to comprehend.  The unerring test for discovering truth from falsehood is by comparing scripture with scripture.  A passage of scripture that may seem obscure and difficult to comprehend will oftentimes be revealed in the light of another scripture.

For what purpose were we created?  The Westminster Catechism states that the chief and highest end of man is to glorify God, and fully enjoy him forever.
